Well draining peat based or coco based potting medium is best.  They don't like to stay dry for long periods of time though.  High humidity is appreciated but overall, not entirely necessary. Medium light leads to the best leaf formation and color. 

 Propagation is done through corms, or bulbs, which the plant produces periodically during the growing season.
